Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and Army Veteran, Dr. Mary Catherine Fischer is an integral member of the Eye Doctors of Washington team. Not only is she trained in the most up-to-date surgical techniques, but she also served for more than 24 years as a brigade surgeon and paratrooper, leading medical missions in Peru and Honduras. With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Fischer is skilled in procedures treating a variety of vision conditions, such as eyelid cancer treatment, lid lesions, chalazion removal, and LipiFlow. Upon graduating from George Washington University Medical School, she went on to become an intern at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, later completing her residency in Ophthalmology at Brooke Army Medical Center.
