The DC Assistive Technology Program is a free service that allows local individuals with disabilities, seniors, service providers, and others to learn about, access, and acquire technology to improve an individual’s function and independence at home, work, school, and in the community. We provide information, consultations, device demonstrations, and device loans at our resource center. Clients can borrow devices from our lending library to ensure that it meets their needs before buying from a vendor. We recommend solutions to compensate for problems related to: • vision • hearing • speech/communication • reading and writing • computer access • telephone access • memory • recreation • mobility • home environmental control
